LSU Libraries’ Collection and Materials Selector Librarian, Tom Diamond, has edited a new book titled, “The Academic Librarian in the Digital Age: Essays on Changing Roles and Responsibilities.” The book is composed of essays that detail the impact that evolving technology has on the functions of libraries and librarians.
New technology impacts everything from libraries’ organizational structures, business models, and workflow processes, to position descriptions and the creation of new positions. The essays detail practical applications of surviving, adapting, and growing when confronted with changing roles and responsibilities within libraries.
