books from flickr labled for reuseRequests for materials not held by LSU Libraries will now be fulfilled more quickly. LSU Libraries’ interlibrary loan unit has recently joined the new SEC Consortium of resource sharing libraries, which was formed in early 2016 by the Texas A&M University Libraries. Membership in the consortium means that LSU Libraries will lend and borrow library materials free of charge to the thirteen other SEC university libraries.

Member libraries are required to use expedited shipping, so requested materials owned by member libraries will be received in 3-5 days. Head of InterLibrary Loan, Megan Lounsberry said “This is a pretty big deal since up until now, print items generally took two or more weeks to arrive.  Joining this consortium reduces that typical wait time for most books to just a few days.”
