On Wednesday, October 29, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., LSU Libraries hosted “It Came from the Library!”, a Halloween-themed open house. Located in Middleton Library, students participating in the event had the opportunity to visit 20 stations located throughout Middleton to learn about the many services and resources offered by LSU Libraries and other LSU campus departments while receiving food, candy, and prizes along the way. Students who visited at least 12 stations were entered into a drawing for door prizes. For the majority of the event, the library was brimming with enthusiastic participating students. Many library staff and students dressed in Halloween attire, and Mike the Tiger, in his Batman costume, stopped by to join in the fun and to learn more about the Libraries. Commenting on the open house, Libraries Dean Stanley Wilder said, “Today’s event was just phenomenal. Such good energy!”
Various door prizes were awarded to students, including the three big prizes below:
- Clay Parker – winner of an iPad, donated by EBSCO
- Marittza Saizad – winner of an iPad mini, donated by Springer
- Ethan Smith – winner of a Kindle Fire HD, donated by Wiley
Many thanks to all the members of the LSU community who participated and made the open house an exceptional and memorable event. Special thanks to the vendors who generously donated door prizes.
