LSU Libraries at International Summer Student Orientation

Posted in Announcements

On May 31, 2013, LSU Libraries met with 19 new summer international students at the International Cultural Center as part of the International Services Office orientation program. Students from around the world, majoring in such disciplines as analytics, engineering, oceanography, and renewable natural resources, were provided with library information such as their subject librarians, LIS 1001, available electronic resources, and services provided by Special Collections as part of a one-day orientation to LSU. There will be a much larger orientation at the end of the summer to welcome the new fall semester international students.

For more information about LSU Libraries, the International Cultural Center (ICC), or the International Services Office (ISO), contact Mitch Fontenot, Outreach Librarian, at mfonten@lsu.edu, the ICC at icc@lsu.edu, or the ISO at isograd@lsu.edu.

Paul Hrycaj is a Research & Instruction Librarian at the LSU Libraries.

LSU faced Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette) on September 26, a game Coach E.T. McDonald (standing at left in the photograph) called “merely a practice game” against a much smaller team with less ability. LSU cruised to an easy 54-0 victory.
